In order to automatically read a weight from your scale, it must be connected to your computer. This is almost always done by connecting the digital weight indicator that is connected to your scale to a communication port (e.g. RS232) on you computer. To do this you will need:
| • | A digital weight indicator with an RS232 serial output |
| • | A cable to connect the digital weight indicator to the serial port on the computer |
| • | A computer with a RS232 serial port |
If your digital weight indicator was manufactured in within the last 10 years, it likely has a compatible RS232 output. If you are unsure, please contact us.
Once your scale is connect to your computer you can setup a Scale Definition to describe it using the Scale Definition Editor.
