dbForge is not free software but it is extremely economical ($99.95 US for a one-year subscription) considering hours of time that it can save you.
dbForge is invaluable when importing legacy data contained in poorly formatted CSV or Excel files. It can also pull live data from sources like Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL Server. For example, dbForge can pull data directly from and existing Truck Scale Ticketing Software like Interact/Transact or WinVRS databases without having to go through the headache of exporting, formatting and importing CSV files.

dbForge also contains reporting and visualization tools.
