Return to chapter overview

When Dispatch detects a change in a definitions Type property it offers to change the Port and Data Packet settings of the definition to the default settings of the selected Type.

If you select Yes, Dispatch will set the following properties:

Serial Port

Baud rate

Data bits

Parity

Stop bits

Time out

Data Packet

Start condition

End condition

Ignore case

Include start/stop condition strings in packet

If you select No, only the Type property will change.

How we determine default settings

Dispatch knows about the default serial port and data packet settings for each of the available indicator types. These settings have been determined by consulting documentation provided by indicator manufacturers. While it is unlikely the Data Packet settings will need to be changed the Port settings might. These settings may have been changed when the indicator was installed and configured.

There is no guarantee that the default settings will be correct. If you have problems, please contact us or your service technician for assistance.
